Chapter One
Judge Shirley Wilkilsom
The Judge smiled about her self made domain as she arrived that morning
at her courtroom. She stepped into her private room just to the right
of the chair that gives her all of this power that it is supposed to
give. However unknown to the common public, is the fact that she has
manipulated with well planned steps on her part to get a much bigger
edge of wealth and power than the typical Judge.
She glances at the artifacts hanging on the wall to remind herself of
where she has come from. Judge Shirley Wilkilsom had a lot of credentials
and was proud of them. She notices her High School Diploma and immediately
starts musing about the Good Ole carefree days. Oh the best was the party
nights with all of her friends. Alcohol became a way of life for her.
Shirley lived to party and gained herself a reputation which was either
good or bad depending on who you asked.
Those days have not been forgotten, but they also have not been eliminated
either. The party life has continued except with the change of being
hidden from the eyes of the people that would frown on that behavior,
especially from a Judge. Yes, those were wonderful days but the present
time is much better because of the much greater supply of money now.
The thought of money instantly puts a smile on Shirley's face. She moves
over to the window as if she needed to contemplate over her stocks. A
devious sneer parted her lips as she surveys her commodity walking to
and fro on the sidewalk below her. It has been years since she had any
tender emotions toward the typical hard working individual. Her reasoning
was that they chose their vocation which caters their meager funds directly
to the Judges and Attorneys.
Right after graduation she reasoned with the concept of wealth. Who besides
the Attorneys can get paid $200 per hour or more? The typical job is
under $10 per hour.
Anyone that has a job over $20 per hour is rare. It would take a self-employed
business with expensive equipment to go beyond that. However after paying
all the payments, insurance, repairs, payroll, and other expenses, different
for various kind of businesses, the pay once again would be probably
about $20 per hour.
The funniest part is the idea of getting paid for a service you don't
need to do! How much money could the house contractor collect if his
newly finished building collapsed before he got paid? How about the bridge
builder if the first car plunges into the river below along with the
bridge? Would the builder get paid for it?
However the outcome can be a crumbly pile of rubble for the Attorney
that you hired and yet he gets paid big money and in advance! Isn't it
slick how it is also a vocation that gets prepaid completely before the
work begins?
McDonalds doesn't weekly prepay their employees. Even occupations like
the housing industry that has an incredible amount of material cost,
yet the money transaction takes place after completion or closure. Sure
there are jobs out there that require a deposit to cover the material
expense. But how many can you name that requires the full amount in advance
before they begin the work?
Also, name off the businesses that the $200 per hour plus, timeclock
starts ticking regardless of what they do. They get paid that amount
even for driving to the courthouse or delivering something to you. It
would have been cheaper for you to hire a Taxi driver, or put it on the
UPS or Fed Ex truck. They are extremely underpaid compared to your Attorney
doing the exact same thing.
Suddenly, Judge Shirley Wilkilsom became seriously angry. She still despised
those Attorneys that had a conscience and did their job with respect
in the viewpoint of the measly public. Why would these Attorneys sacrifice
their potential by doing so much for their clients? There are a few and
that is her mission to drive them away from her jurisdiction. They are
a threat to her Empire and also her money purse.
She became furious thinking about the few Attorneys that bypassed her
decision and her Law, and went to the higher Court. It was there that
most of the time her Law was discarded, and then replaced by the Law
of the majority of people which are written into a few big books called
the Statutes.
She glanced across the room at the big stack of books now. She had a
contempt to most of the things mentioned in them. However at other times
the contents could be used to her advantage. It was however the limitation
of rules, the percentage amounts, and the restrictions of her power,
that she despised. There should not be a reason why she should be forced
to stay within the Statute limits! If the Statutes states a maximum of
34%, she immediately seeks to create a bigger 100%, or add extra expenses
if that is not possible. Ideas like New Shoes Fee, or a monthly Change
The Locks Fee is only two possibilities to increase the limitation of
the 34% amount. The idea that there might be some conscientious Attorneys
out there that would object to that, still angered her.
In this state there are three levels of Court. The lowest basic Court,
which is hers, is considered the Grade School Court. If there is one
of those despicable Attorneys from Shirley's viewpoint, that has the
audacity to reject her authority, has the right to appeal to the High
School Court. If once again the renegade Attorney disagrees with the
outcome, they can appeal to the States College Court.
It was a long time ago that Judge Shirley Wilkilsom saw the need to get
into the Judicial System and then eliminate the vulnerability of the
position she strived for. She moved quickly through the required college
for her vocation. The next step was to become an Attorney for a short
time but never lose perspective of the position of Judge she was focused
on.
Now let us reason on some ironic
questions. How many voters does the individual seeking office, have
to convince to get elected into the position of Judge? Now how many
ballot counters are there for the same election, and to what percentage
of voters in comparison? Isn't there a greater potential of power
in the hands of the ballot counter, than the single voter? Judge
Shirley smiled at the thought of going to the counter and saying," If I get re-elected I will give you $2000 cash!" That
is not a bribe but a donation for their good work. Another thing, once
in position she could contact any contestant that runs against her if
they would accept a few thousand dollars instead.
Judge Shirley Wilkilsom thought about what happened just a few short
years earlier. After serving a few years, her position was up for election
again. A man was running against her and she needed to contact him. Sitting
at a fancy restaurant, Shirley offered him several thousand dollars if
he would withdraw himself from the ballot. He smiled and thanked her
for the meal, but told her that he had no intention for withdrawing.
Ironically that next week the man's son got busted for having a large
amount of drugs in possesion. If found guilty the son would be a middle
age man before he would be released from prison. Judge Wilkilsom was
watching the Father when they led the shackled son into the courtroom.
It was impressive to herself that the father had chosen and committed
himself unknowingly to an Attorney of her choosing who was behind the
scene a friend of hers. She had often exchanged money with him back and
forth, but always secretely away from the unforgiving public's eye.
Now Judge Shirley Wilkilsom immediatly asked for a short behind closed
doors talk. Once in the adjacent room, Shirley didn't waste any time
with the father. In front of him and his Attorney, she told him that
she would go for the maximum amount of years for sentencing if he wants
to fight it. On the other hand, if he is willing to straighten out his
priorities and try spending time with putting his family in order, that
she might be willing to overlook his son's mistake. As far as the power
of the Police Department, they only had the power to arrest him. Shirley
then said that she had the power to release him or lock him away for
many years.
The man withdrew his name from the ballot. The son was released and then
the family moved far away from this city called Kruptville, USA. Judge
Shirley Wilkilsom was voted back into office for another term since she
was the only one on the ballot. The sneer came accross her face again.
She figured that it was his fault for what happened. I was upright in
all of this because I had offered him money earlier. She mused that it
was his arrogant stupidity for not doing what Judge Shirley Wilkilsom
hinted. He learned the hard way that her hints are but orders unto death
if necessary. Now with that on her mind, she put on her black robe and
entered the courtroom.
Chapter Two
You have Court today!
The sun rose beautifully and bright over the city as the daily activities
began to stir. The many noises and the aromas began to fill the air this
morning from all the many different types of occupations represented
here in Kruptville, USA.
From the casual glance of a tourist passing through, their evaluation
would be nothing outside of a gorgeous and cloudless day. However, to
the experienced eye that has learned to see things beyond the limits
of the simple eye's natural vision, they can't help but see the horrifying
dark clouds wrapping itself around this city. Once tuned into this darkness
you begin to feel it much more than see it. You then wonder why no one
else can discern or see also these strongholds of extremely dark forces
enveloping this city.
You draw your mind back to what you believe is reality and shut out the
dark cloud of probably superstitions. After all, it is a beautiful day
and you have court today! Why shouldn't you feel confident after what
you have experienced. Your mind starts to drift away to the Barbaric
Swimmers Club. Oh yes, you definitly remember the early days when you
first met them.
They had a domineering and infective spirit which instantly comes alive
in your mind again. The mindset and analogies of their's still haunts
your mind. What was this philosophy that was so dangerous, you ask? Well,
you think that, that should be easy to explain,... but then you realize
that you have a problem finding the convincing words.
Their leaders voice still echoes in your mind as he talks about how you
must swim. Place a mediocre swimmer in the water and he will swim but
will never get the prize. Now take the same swimmer and hold him under
water and see what happens.
At first he will be confused and thinks that it must be a joke and just
takes it. Soon however he wants to get some air and he will start to
put some pressure against this resistance which is holding him down.
And then all of a sudden, the want turns into a need, and he begins to
fight. At that point he becomes not only a fighter but an excellent swimmer.
If he always swam with every stroke just like that he would take the
trophy every time.
Doesn't that sound good and convincing? What is wrong with a club that
teaches that? By choice the members will lock some weights around their
ankles in pursuit of becoming an excellent swimmer, and also winning
the admiration of the other members. Some club members will even fasten
the weights to their little children and babies.
And then the catastrophies begin as different ones of the Club dive in
the water or pitch their baby in. One member simply jumped into only
three feet of water. When they stood up in the water, which was only
up to the waist, the Club members cheered and applauded. Some get so
excited that they did laps around the pool. Nobody could convince them
now that the weights didn't work.
Another member decides to out do the previous member and jumps off at
the deep end of the pool. The tension mounts as the seconds tick by.
Suddenly by the ladder of the pool they emerge gasping and sputtering
for air. The Club goes wild again creating a noise that is deaffening
which also is included with much running and other calisthenics. Nobody
even questioned the use of the ladder.
However, it was a sad day for the Club members and for also the non-members,
when one Club leader jumped into the deep end and also a baby was pitched
into the water. The minutes ticked by with fear rising amongst the group.
Then the reality took effect and everyone realized that they will not
surface. Instead of questioning their theory on swimming, the Club lavished
and praised the deceased with extreme honors and placed them amongst
the many respected names in their Book of Hall of Shames.
The
authorities came to investigate but were comforted or side tracked
by the information they received. Nobody had fastened the weights on
the deceased but was strictly voluntary which is therefore not murder.
It also is not suicide because the member truly believed he could swim
to the surface with the weight. And the baby just slipped into the water
and it was their "shoes" that pulled them under and only a
mistake.
You pinch yourself to get your mind out of this trace. Now you feel foolish
for ever having believed that stuff. If only the Club leader would have
jumped off into the deep with a fifty pound weight tied to his ankles!
If he could have surfaced with it then you would be still assured today
that it did work, which you don't have now. All those years and not one
example that is beyond a shallow water explantion. And if the leader
would have gone down, would that have sunk the Club out of existence?
With seeing the truth on that and then leaving it was a good move. However,
your spouse still believes in those that stood up in the shallow side
of the pool and refuses to leave the Club. You feel confident that the
courts will favor you as you head to that massive concrete building.
As you approach the Courthouse, the darkness and then the fear engulf
you even though the natural sky is clear.
Chapter Three
Attorney Frank Bequile
Attorney Frank Bequile sluggishly pushed his excessive weight up the
marble steps leading into the courthouse. He thought about the many things
that were informed to him last night. He was one of the several Attorneys
in Kruptville that had secretly signed an agreement amongst themselves,
which was controlled by the Judge.
As a child he couldn't explain the comment about the monetary status
of a Attorney. The riddle was why does a one and only Attorney in any
certain town financially starve! However, if there are two or more of
them in the same town, they all get rich? It does not fit the concept
with any other vocation.
Today however, he fully understood the reason for that and immediately
his degenerate character produced a villainous sneer. Out of breath,
he opened the door and entered. His eyes gazed to and fro for the presence
of his next victim. His money didn't just have the former presidents
on them, but also the face of each one of his clients. It didn't stop
there either because any relative of his victim represented money too.
People meant only money and a commodity to him.
Being part of this secret pack, he was taught early in this conniving
business to extensively search out all the possible revenues of the client
which includes the relatives. Judge Shirley Wilkilsom had labored hard
in educating these Attorneys. You need to diligently seek out also the
organizations they are affiliated with. Are these organizations eager
to spend money for their side of this argument? If eager, then side with
them as long as there is a money flow. That will immediately force the
other side to find ways to start handing over money to keep from going
to jail. Constantly threatening with jail will produce relatives and
friends to give money to this victim friend so that they can remain free
outside of jail.
There is one thing though that has troubled him. In the real world where
the self- employed business operates, there is always the challenge of
trying to get exposure to the public that is in need of your type of
service. The thought irratated him how other Attorneys have the luck
of getting the clients which have a lot of money, or have relatives that
have it. Case after case the other Kruptville Attorneys get the good
ones which have enough money to easilly fill the blood money purse of
the judge first, and then also a little bit for himself. Why does he
almost always aquire the client that can just barely scratch up the fee
that he has set for his service?
As far as advertising goes, Frank Beguile Law and Associates have a large
display in the local phone book, the same as the other Attorneys. Many
of the other attorneys though charge a fee for the very first visit with
the client, but he does not. He mused on that part wondering if that
was the way other attorneys weeded out the broke people right from the
start. However, if he did that, he would just weed out the few and only
customers that he had.
His track record of convincing his clients to settle for something way
less than what the statutes allow, has put him in the position of the
underdog. His reputation to the people that knew him well, would classify
him at the very bottom of the list of the Kruptville Attorneys. That
bothered him but he didnt know what to do about it. If he practiced in
a different city he could memorize or study more of the statutes and
yet, in Kruptville, if he declared to uphold specific statutes, Judge
Shirley Wilkilsom would undeniably destroy him out of business. Knowing
and enforcing state statutes in this city is occupational suicide.
Therefore, he must keep reminding himself to be content with what the
Judge and the other Attorneys tell him to do. After all, he does make
almost $200 an hour before his service even begins. He then also gets
a smaller bonus from the secret Kruptville compact, if he can deceive
and swindle his victim into settling for the things their opponent wants
to settle for. That is usually a whole lot less then what the statutes
allow. There have been a few times when he was offered almost as much
money for himself by his opponent's Attorney and Judge Wilkilsom, for
the performance of convincing his client or victim to settle for the
ridiculous. His victim always prepaid their fee upfront and any extra
money now would have to come from this fast and double-dipping offer.
Taking those offers and money soon became a stable supplement income.
However, he learned quickly that in order to have a smooth ride in life,
a person needs to grease the wheel. At the capitol of this state, there
is an organization that he is accountable to. It is called the Board
of Liars Evaluation (BoLE). They segment the state into several jurisdictions
with a different investigator for each area. The Kruptville district
became the investigation duty for Mrs. Lucy Shifteyes. Symbolically Attorney
Frank Beguile applied the grease often to a gratification fund for Mrs.
Shifteyes which was to encourage her in the fine job she was doing.
Occasionally, Mrs. Shifteyes would get a complaint from a wretched civilian,
that has never given her a penny, complaining that Frank had done them
wrong. Lucy then would study the complaint, with her face forward looking
straight at it. Ironic though is how she faced the paper but her eyes
shifted and were focussed everywhere else but on the paper. After several
minutes of that kind of intense investigation, Mrs. Shifteyes confirmed
that there was no corruption in the conduct of Attorney Frank Beguile.
The very next week, Mrs.Shifteyes picked up her salary check from the
state, which was from the tax payers money. However in her private mailbox
was another check from Frank Beguile, thanking her especially for sacrificing
so much time and effort in getting such an accurate report and conclusion
in every job she does. She quickly looked both ways without moving her
head as she took the check with a smile.
She too was proud of her attribution she was giving to the Law and Order
of the Justice System of Kruptville. Could she just let the beggerly
scum of society destroy this lucritive business of providing a form of
Commodity Law to the deserved citizens? It is the citizens that have
and share their commodities that should benefit by getting the Justice
bent their way. It should not be for the beggerly tight-wads that contribute
nothing to this system unless forced by Judge Shirley, and therefore
they are a cash flow hinderance to the well being of the economy.
Finally, Attorney Frank Beguile steps out of the elevator on the third
floor of the courthouse hallway. He looks with distaste at the flight
of stairways across the hallway. Those things are built for either the
ambitous or the poor people of society he thought. Well now, speaking
of poor people Frank Beguiles' eyes and your's connect. A generic smile
spreads across his face as he reaches out his hand and greets you.
With that same smile he immediatley assures you that everything will
be just fine. He tells you that he will fight for you since you deserve
the best. You wonder why your ears and your heart and your sixth sense
are not in harmony. Why do you feel such dark evil presence right now
while this fighting Attorney of your's is saying everything is alright?
With fear jumping all around inside you, you follow your hired fearless
leader into the courtroom.
